Democrate & Chronicle – Steelhead anglers are on alert

Fishing on Lake Ontario’s famed tributaries for steelhead trout, one of the most coveted game fish in the world is a time-honored pastime. It also means big business during the long winter months along New York’s entire shoreline.

But something fishy is going on.

Orvis – Picture of the Day: Lake-Run Monster

Guide Scott Feltrinelli sent us this photo of a client with a monster lake-run brown from Western New York. Check out the big, ugly streamer in the huge buck’s mouth.

Democrate & Chronicle – Do It: Conservation through education

As he steadily loaded his fly rod line with quick whips of his right arm, Capt. Scott Feltrinelli recalled with glee the day he caught 22 brown trout in just two hours at one of his honey holes on Four Mile Creek in Webster. Out of fresh water trout flies, he pulled out the only thing he had left to throw: a fly meant to catch saltwater bonefish.

On the Fly Magazine

Cattaraugus Creek is approximately 68 miles long and meanders through wooded hills southwest of the City of Buffalo, NY and continues through the Seneca Tribe property and finally drains into Lake Erie. My focus for fly fishing inland trout from May to October is the piece of water that runs through the Town of Arcade, NY.
